Biography
Born in Surinam in 1986 and raised in the Netherlands from the age of nine, La Toya Linger has been singing for as long as she can remember. She started out writing her own lyrics in R&B, soul and hip-hop, recording on a home computer over borrowed beats, before reggae and dancehall took over completely.
Known as "Lioness" for her commanding stage presence and powerful vocal delivery, she released her first official single "Mi Waan You" in 2012 and has since built a catalogue of dancehall, reggae and moombahton collaborations with Dutch soundsystem and club producers.
Now based in Amsterdam, she has grown into a magnetic live performer: an artist who reads a room, lifts a crowd and holds a mainstage with the same conviction she brings to an intimate club. Genuine Caribbean and Surinamese roots, real energy, zero filler.
